Facility Solutions: Missing elements of branch design

first_imgWhile branches are expensive to operate, they provide golden opportunities to connect with members. To optimize the investment in branches, we must extract every ounce of opportunity to deliver the brand experience and increase member awareness of products and services. Experience engineering encompasses many aspects of branch planning and design, including location and adjacencies, security (incorporating the FBI’s SafeCatch principles), staff training and constant reinforcement, technology integration, and messaging and merchandising.Messaging and merchandising should be included in early planning alongside other elements of branch design. Weak or ineffective messaging and merchandising diminish the investment in this infrastructure. The cost is developing and integrating effective messaging is relatively low with a potentially high return. Failure to include merchandising as part of experience engineering may result in a subprime final product and/or potentially expensive last-minute changes during construction. Some credit unions focus their branch messaging to present a strong brand experience, as in the example of BECU showcasing photos of real members and Northwest locations to make a visceral connection.Other credit unions have told me they do not need to do merchandising because members already know what they offer. But when we do surveys, we find that members do not know their credit union offers small business banking, investments, or even mortgages. A well-conceived messaging and merchandising program can increase both brand connection and product and service use by 10 percent to 40 percent, which provides a quick ROI. continue reading » 4SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblrlast_img read more

Serena says she is being ‘discriminated’ against over doping tests

first_imgSerena Williams says she is a victim of “discrimination” as she is the most drug tested American tennis player. The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion made the claim in a tweet on Tuesday, after doping officials visited her.The American had previously expressed frustration about the volume of her tests earlier this month.”Out of all the players it’s been proven I’m the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so,” said the 36-year-old.An article published by website Deadspin in June revealed that Williams had been tested out of competition by the US Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) on five occasions in 2018. It also claimed the player was not present when Usada officials visited her home on 14 June – Williams stated that the tester showed up 12 hours earlier than the agreed time.It was eventually marked as a “missed test” – three of those would result in a Usada doping violation. At the time of publication of the Deadspin article, Williams had been tested more than twice as many times as other top American players – male or female – including US Open champion Sloane Stephens (one) and sister and multiple Grand Slam winner Venus Williams (two).Williams was asked about the findings of the report during Wimbledon earlier this summer.”I never knew that I was tested so much more than everyone else,” said the seven-time champion, who lost to German Angelique Kerber in the final. “Until I read that article I didn’t realise it was such a discrepancy with me as well as against the other players that they listed, at least the American players – both male and female.”BBC Sport has contacted Usada for a response to Williams’ tweet.last_img read more

Jake Paul calls Gib a doormat he’s ‘wiping his shoes on’ before fight vs. KSI

first_imgJake Paul and AnEsonGib had their first press conference Wednesday to promote their fight on Jan. 30, and things got interesting. While the two YouTube stars did exchange profanities, the press conference wasn’t nearly as personal as the one held by Paul’s brother Logan in 2019. Wednesday’s meeting between the two fighters was short and to the point, with a few insults mixed in. Paul seemingly has an advantage in the fight because he’s been preparing a lot earlier than Gib. It was announced during KSI’s win over Logan Paul in early November that Jake Paul had become a professional boxer. So he knew he was going to fight, but didn’t know who.Gib admitted during Wednesday’s press conference he just arrived in America earlier this month, and started his training once he got here. Paul joked, “You used all of your American Airlines miles to get knocked the f— out.” We’ll know for sure who takes the victory on Thursday, Jan. 30 in Miami. The fight will be streamed live on DAZN as an undercard match where there will be three world title fights held. The main event will be Demetrius Andrade putting his WBO middleweight title up for grabs against Luke Keeler. We saw KSI defeat Logan Paul in December, and Jake says he wants to avenge his brother’s loss. When asked about this Wednesday, he explained that point in more detail.”Gib’s a doormat to me,” Paul said. “He’s merely something I’m wiping my shoes on, on the path to avenge my brother. My brother lost because of a two-point deduction, it was a controversial win for KSI. But KSI got the win — and all respect to him — but I’m a different fighter and I have a different mentality. And after I beat Gib, KSI is going to get the smoke. KSI’s already said he’s down, so to me this is where this is naturally all going. I’m going to be here again in a couple of months after this fool gets knocked out.”When asked if it seems like Paul is overlooking him to fight KSI, Gib responded, “That sounds like his problem, not mine.”Paul and Gib have a boxing history, although very brief. Paul fought as the co-main event for KSI vs. Logan Paul (the first fight) and beat KSI’s brother, Deji. Gib was also an undercard on the initial fight, where he defeated Jay Swingler, another YouTube personality.Today’s “Face-Off”#PaulvsGib pic.twitter.com/scEsBZY05V— DAZN USA (@DAZN_USA) January 8, 2020When asked why Paul decided to fight Gib, he got honest for pretty much the only time in the entire press conference.”To be fair, he has a strong loyal fanbase that has KSI’s fans behind him,” Paul said. “I did a Twitter poll asking people who I should fight, and he won the poll.”Other names mentioned in the poll were FouseyTube, FaZe_Sensei, Soulja Boy, Dillon Danis and Jeff Wittek. Join DAZN to watch Paul vs. Gib and 100+ fight nights a yearlast_img read more
