In accordance with ALNAV 061/11, officers selected for early retirement have also been notified by letter routed via their immediate superior in command.The FY-12 Selective Early Retirement Board (SERB) reviewed the records of active duty unrestricted line captains and commanders who met eligibility criteria outlined in NAVADMIN 006/11.Navy convened the SERB after high retention, reduction in officer billets and low attrition among senior active duty unrestricted line officers resulted in an excess.
