GAA NEWS: GLENSWILLY APPEAL FOR PARENTS TO ASSIST AT UNDERAGE SESSIONS

first_imgGLENSWILLY GAA CLUB NOTESAppeal to parentsEach week the underage section of the club holds training sessions which are attended by high numbers of children. However the club is now appealing for help with a specific age group. The Under 8 age group is in serious need of help and is appealing to parents to get involved. There are more than 50 youngsters turning up each week for training. Any parents who can give a couple of hours of their time is asked to contact Lee Gildea 086 6059117. Parents do not have to have GAA coaching experience as all guidance will be given. U14sThe U14 boys team will face Moville this Sunday in the semi-final of their league. The game throws-in at 11.30am.LOTTOThe winner of the club lotto last week was Brenda Gibbons of Glenwood Park, Letterkenny who matched three numbers. The winning numbers were 5, 12, 14 and 20. Club lottos are available from all local outlets during the week. U12 boysThe U12 boys play their first game of the season at home on Monday next against Red Hughs with a throw-in time of 6.15pm. Best of luck to the lads.Ladies NotesTraining continues for Under 12 girls at the main pitch from 6.30 to 7.30 on Wednesdays. It is great to see so many girls taking part. Games begin on Tuesday next, 3rd May at 7.15pm.Under 14 training continues weekly. Girls have a game at home against Termon on Sunday 1st May at 7.30pm The girls will train on Saturday between 3.30pm and 5pm. Ladies training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All welcome.The Ulster Ladies Council are awarding four Gaeltacht scholarships this year. Application form is available on www.ulsterladiesgaelic.com, closing date is Friday 20th May.Darkness Into LightFollowing last year’s successful entry, the club will have another group entry for this year’s Darkness into Light 5K.The 5K takes place on Saturday morning 7th May at 4.15am.Group entry is €20 per person. Anyone interested should contact Elaine at 086 1611240. QUIZThe Club is holding a Table Quiz in Callaghans on Friday 27th May. Teams of 4, entry €20.00. Everyone is encouraged to support.BINGOBingo continues in the clubhouse every Wednesday night at 9pm.
